Top celebrity vehicles, more than 150 classic cars, automotive-related vendors, and deejays spinning music from the decades will be in the spotlight at the 7th Annual Downtown Burbank Car Classic on Saturday, August 4 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
New this year, Magnolia Boulevard will be closed to traffic, extending the event into Burbank Town Center on San Fernando Boulevard. The Downtown Burbank Car Classic is free and open to the public.
Picture cars from Vehicle Effects, the Television Motion Picture Car Club, the World-Famous West Coast Customs, Movie Machines, Unique Twist, and much more will cover six blocks amid 400 shops and restaurants in Downtown Burbank’s thriving commercial neighborhood, on San Fernando Boulevard from Magnolia Boulevard to Angeleno Avenue.
A special Red Carpet Expo dedicated to famous cars from film and television will include numerous automobiles designed by Vehicle Effects and driven by the likes of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Paul Walker from 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), Fast and Furious 4 (2009), Furious 6 (2013) and The Fate of the Furious (2017), along with the Mustang used by robot superhero Barricade Decepticon from the Transformers franchise.
Rounding off the Fast and Furious theme is the giant Chevy LS trophy truck from Furious 7 (2015) driven by Jason Statham and designed by Movie Machines.
Custom cars designed by celebrity automotive creator Ryan Friedlinghaus and his Burbank-based team at West Coast Customs will be on display, as well as a wide selection of exotic, classic, and collector cars lovingly restored by vehicle owners representing the best in Southern California car culture.
In addition, Television Motion Picture Car Club Member Faith Granger, who is the writer, producer, director, and star will be featuring her 1932 Deuce Hot Rod from the multi award-winning motion picture Deuce of Spades.
To provide a safe environment for guests and participants, the following road closures will be in effect beginning at 6:00 A.M. on August 4. Please note that this year, a full closure of Magnolia Blvd. will be in effect between First St. and Third St.:
>> Magnolia Blvd. will be CLOSED between First St. and Third St.
>> San Fernando Blvd. will be CLOSED between Magnolia Blvd. and Angeleno Ave.
>> Palm Ave. will be CLOSED mid-block, west of Third St. to San Fernando Blvd.
>> Orange Grove Ave. will be CLOSED mid-block, west of Third St., to mid-block, east of First St.
>> Olive Ave. will be CLOSED from mid-block, east of First St. to Third St.
These road closures are scheduled to remain in effect until 11:30 P.M. However, closures may be lifted earlier than expected following the conclusion of the event.
