The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose a half-cent Saturday to $2.996, one day after increasing four-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago, 7.6 cents higher than one month ago and 34.6 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Prices Information Service.
The Orange County average price rose for the 17th consecutive day, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $2.971. It has risen 8.6 cents over the past 17 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Friday.
The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, 8.7 cents higher than one month ago and 35.1 cents greater than one year ago.
In other news, L.A. County home sales are up 24.9 percent.
