Three men were critically injured today and a fourth person suffered serious injuries when a vehicle with a suspected drunken driver at the wheel struck a second vehicle in Van Nuys, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 6 a.m. in the 6700 block of Hazeltine Avenue near Archwood Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The suspected drunken driver, a male, fled but was located by witnesses and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, said Los Angeles police Officer Irma Mota.
There were three passengers in the vehicle struck by the suspected drunk driver, Mota said. The three critical patients are men in their 30s, the fire department reported
One of the accident’s victims was extricated from the wreckage by firefighters, according to the fire department.
