A man in his 30s was struck and killed Monday by a suspected drunken driver in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles, police said.
The crash was reported at 2:24 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, the LAPD said.
According to police a 2017 Lexus RX350 driven by Nyamdorj Gankhuyag was headed north on Vermont Avenue when he struck the man. Gankhuyag was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was booked on a charge of vehicular manslaughter.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
