A knife-wielding suspect was wounded in an officer- involved-shooting Monday in Van Nuys, according to Los Angeles police.

Police were responding about 4:30 a.m. to a “screaming woman radio call” in the 13600 block of Vanowen Street when the shooting took place, LAPD Officer Drake Madison said.

Madison said responding officers were allegedly confronted by a knife- wielding man who refused to drop his weapon when officers ordered him to. That’s when the OIS took place.

There’s no word yet on the condition of the man who was shot or on the woman who made the 911 call.
