Police sought the public’s help Tuesday in identifying a suspect wanted in several Studio City knock-knock burglaries.
Between Nov. 28 and Sunday, a suspect wearing a scarf and a Santa Claus hat has knocked on the front door or rang the doorbell of residences in Studio City, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Some of the burglaries were caught on video, police said.
When no one answered the door, the suspect would gain entry to the backyards of the homes, smash a rear patio sliding door or back window, then enter the homes, police said.
Once inside the homes, the suspect took cash, jewelry, safes and firearms before leaving, police said. A getaway driver has been seen in a dark sedan, police added.
The suspect is described as black, between the ages of 18 and 25, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 140 to 160 pounds, and he has a tattoo along his right jaw line.
Anyone with information on the burglaries or who can identify the suspect was urged to contact LAPD North Hollywood area burglary detectives at (818) 754-8377.
In other news, an armed robbery suspect was arrested on suspicion of committing heists in Burbank and North Hollywood.
