A suspect was wounded Sunday when gunfire erupted at police activity Sunday in Van Nuys, and officers set up a perimeter to search for another suspect.

The shooting occurred about 10:50 a.m. in the 13500 block of Sherman Way, said Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section. It was not immediately disclosed who fired the shot or shots, but a suspect was wounded.

No officers were injured, and the suspect was taken to a hospital, the department spokesman said. His condition was not immediately known.

A perimeter was set up to search for another suspect, police said.
